3 Men’s Skincare Ingredients You Should be Paying Attention To

Its true that most men do not care about their skincare and haircare, while women on the other hand typically have their skincare routines all planned out.

Men would often cop and apply whatever moisturizer that catches their attention at the drugstore and would not even care to check what its made of; to know if there are certain hidden ingredients that could be doing his skin more harm than good.

We’ll be looking at the 3 most common ingredients that could be the cause of that skin irritations.

Alchohol: is mostly found in astringents, after shaves, and toners. It can cause breakouts and in most cases it drys out your skin. Not all alcohols are bad for your skin you would need to avoid the simple and aromatic alcohols (isopropyl alcohol, SD alcohol or denatured alcohol).

Sulphates: Usually known as the bridge and foaming agent (SLS and SLES) between oil and water. It’s found in soaps, toothpastes and shampoos. What sulphate does is it breaks up the natural oils in the skin making it easier to clean. While this can be good for cleansing reasons, stripping the skin of its national oils can make it tender and irritated which would often lead to inflammation.

Triclosan: Any product that is usually antibacterial would most likely contain triclosan. It’s a hormone disruptor that can directly affect your mind, weaken your immune system, most times cause havoc with your reproductive systems and cause skin dryness. An alternative natural antibacterial you should consider getting would be tea tree oil, cinnamon, honey.
